About WISDOM

WISDOM is a statewide network, comprised mainly of faith-based organizations.  WISDOM began with Milwaukee Inner-City Congregations Allied for Hope's (MICAH) founding in 1988. It has now grown to 13 affiliate organizations across the state of Wisconsin from Eau Claire to Kenosha.  WISDOM is also blessed to include the statewide EXPO (EX-incarcerated People Organizing) network, and the Menikanaehkem organization on the Menominee Reservation. We work on campaigns fighting for immigrant rights and to correct the narrative around formerly incarcerated individuals, and much more. Our priorities have expanded to include multi-issue work from a faith-based lens as we fight for racial, social and economic justice for all. WISDOM is a proud member of the national Gamaliel Network.

Our Mission

WISDOM is a statewide network, committed to bringing diverse communities together to work for racial and economic justice.

Our Vision

We envision a society where all Wisconsinites enjoy an equitable, democratic society, in which they all can thrive and share power.

Organizational Values

At WISDOM, our work is inspired by radical inclusion, costly reconciliation, and living for the seventh generation.

Radical Inclusion

Living for the Seventh Generation

Costly Reconciliation

We are willing to stand up for the radical belief every human being ought to be treated as a valuable member of the Beloved Community, with no exceptions.

Costly Reconciliation

Living for the Seventh Generation

Costly Reconciliation

There are deep, lasting effects of exploitation and exclusions on people of color that stem from years, even centuries of injustice. We must reckon with that history in order to move toward real healing and to achieve true reconciliation.

Living for the Seventh Generation

Our decisions today not only affect us, but our grandchildren and their grandchildren, and beyond.  We believe we must act accordingly.
